About Me
Let's see... Born in Atlanta, GA. I've lived in CA, WA, MA, OR, MT, and ND, so I've covered the corners of the U.S. of A. So far I've been to 16 countries. I have enjoyed them all, though still consider myself fortunate to live in this great experiment of religious and civil liberty, and opportunity for all of us immigrants, whether we've been here three-hundred years or three.
I spent my very early years in Myrtle Point, OR, a small lumber-town where my father started his career in medicine as a small town doc, and my mother began her career in politics as the town mayor.
I spent my formative years in Missoula, MT (go Griz!) where my father continued his work in family mediine, my mother in politics and non-profits, my brother in handing down his outgrown digs, and my sister in putting up with two older brothers (no small task).
I left for college to study ministry at a small Bible college, Trinity Bible College (you know it's serious when 'Bible' in actually in the title) in the Mid-West. I was intent on solving the world's problems (only three to go). Halfway through I transferred to Northwest College in Kirkland, WA. After graduating I stayed a while to work in Education Administration.
I decided to attend seminary at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary for a year, after which I stayed in Boston and took up web design and marketing, anxious to start over and get my sea-legs.
Soon after I moved back to Seattle and after a year or so started a political consulting business where I consulted political candidates and built software on the side to manage political campaign data/finances (who knew I was such a geek).
Later I closed out the business, helped out in a couple of web startups, and did a stint at Starbucks leading a software team for their global business services (I do love their coffee).
Finally decided to muster up the courage to write my first book, "Over Coffee" (a conversation for gay partnership & conservative faith). The book is largely my own attempt at the issue, being familiar with both sides of the equation. My most recent book - a series: "Dreams and Journeys - Part One: The Cathedral," is an allegorical work written to provide a teaching tool for basic Christian faith concepts.
I'm now working on BlueHead Publishing a software company for the publishing industry, and World Uniting/Press a nonprofit giving voice to the marginalized where I write and speak on the subjects of my books, and minister in music as often as I am afforded.
